Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb Refutes Reports of Public Holiday on Pakistan Martyrs Day

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb dismissed reports on Tuesday claiming the declaration of a public holiday on May 25, Pakistan Martyrs Day, as false. Taking to Twitter, the ministry shared the official notification that was issued earlier, emphasizing that spreading fake news is not only unethical and illegal but also detrimental to the nation. The ministry urged everyone to reject irresponsible behavior and fake news.

The Ministry of Information categorically stated that the notification regarding the holiday on Martyrs Day is fraudulent. Earlier, a circulated notification had purportedly announced May 25 as a public holiday, leading to confusion among the public.

However, the Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) confirmed that all schools will remain closed on May 25. President of APPSF, Kashif Mirza, clarified that board exams would proceed as scheduled, with regular classes resuming on May 26 according to the predetermined timetable.

Mirza also provided details on the summer vacation schedule across the country, stating that summer vacations will take place from June 15 to August 14, with schools reopening on August 15. Additionally, he mentioned that in the province of Sindh, summer vacations will commence from June 1 and conclude on July 31.
