May 9 Violence Triggers Mass Exodus of PTI Leaders from Imran Niazi's Party

Following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Niazi in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9, violent protests erupted across the country, leading to a significant number of PTI leaders severing ties with the party. The protests resulted in the storming and destruction of state installations, causing casualties and injuries. To restore order, the government implemented measures such as internet service suspension and the deployment of army troops.

In the aftermath of the widespread violence and attacks on defense and public properties, several PTI leaders, including close associates of Imran Khan, announced their departure from the party.
