Honour Killing: Young Girl Burnt to Death by Family in Punjab

A horrifying incident of an "honour killing" has occurred in Basti Dabwala, Garh Maharaja area of Jhang, Punjab, where a young girl was brutally burnt to death by her family, according to a report by The News.

Upon receiving information about the crime, District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Mehboob swiftly took action and apprehended all six members of the victim's family. Among the arrested individuals are the victim's father, Rajab Ali, her two brothers, Jaber and Aamir, as well as her sisters, Kausar, Sameera, and Aasia.

Although the girl was rushed to a medical facility for treatment, her injuries proved fatal. Before succumbing to her wounds, she provided a statement, revealing that she had left her home because she wished to marry a person of her own choice. In a vengeful response, her father, brothers, and sisters doused her in petrol and set her on fire.

The DPO has directed the investigation team to thoroughly examine all aspects of the incident and ensure the arrest of any additional individuals involved in this horrific crime.
