Government to Relaunch Laptop Scheme and Promote Youth Activities, Announces SAPM

Today, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, announced that the government will be re-launching the laptop scheme this year as part of the Prime Minister Youth Program. During a press conference, the SAPM revealed that the scheme aims to provide 100,000 laptops to the youth.

Expressing regret over the discontinuation of the scheme by the previous government, Shaza highlighted the positive impact of the laptops distributed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government. These laptops enabled young individuals to pursue their education and maintain their employment during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the laptop scheme, the government has taken steps to promote a startup culture among the youth by initiating the National Innovation Award, as shared by the SAPM. This award aims to encourage innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit among young people.

Furthermore, the government places special emphasis on promoting healthy activities among the youth. Shaza mentioned that over the past year, approximately 54,000 children have participated in various sports activities. Notably, hockey trials were conducted in twenty-five regions, and volleyball trials took place in twenty-eight regions.

Excitingly, the SAPM announced the commencement of registration for football trials across Pakistan, providing an opportunity for youth interested in the sport to showcase their talent.

These initiatives under the Prime Minister Youth Program reflect the government's commitment to empowering and engaging young individuals, fostering their educational growth, entrepreneurial skills, and active participation in sports.
