A message in Urdu is circulating online claiming that new communication rules for WhatsApp and WhatsApp calls will be effective from tomorrow. This message is fake. WhatsApp has not announced any new communication rules. The ticks on WhatsApp simply indicate the status of a message: whether it has been sent, delivered, read, or received with read receipt. There is no government surveillance of WhatsApp messages or calls.
